State 4-H teen council asking for names of 4-H alumni

CLEMSON – Millions of young people in South Carolina have been involved in 4-H since the first corn club in 1908.  4-H alumni can spend hours talking about the good old days in 4-H.  Since 4-H is celebrating 100 years, the State 4-H Teen Council is issuing a 4-H Alumni Challenge to all Clemson extension offices in the state to collect 4-H alumni names.

Anyone who has ever been a member of 4-H is asked to contact their local Clemson extension office to get their names on record.  Many extension offices will be hosting alumni events and there will be a statewide 4-H reunion in the fall.

The mission of the South Carolina 4-H Alumni Association is to connect the past, present and future 4-H’ers to support the 4-H youth development experience with enthusiasm and energy.

South Carolina 4-H has been making the best better since 1908. It is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. For more information about South Carolina 4-H or its centennial celebration, contact your county extension office or go to: www.clemson.edu/4h.
