Pickens County 4-H hunting program set for Aug. 23

CLEMSON — Pickens County 4-H wants to help youths ages 5-12 prepare for the upcoming hunting season. The program is about hunting skills and ethics. It will be from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 23 at the Department of Natural Resources Office in Clemson.

This event will be a celebration of the approaching season. It will focus on reinforcing some of the skills and ethics used in hunting or will introduce these skills for the first time.

Instruction will be conducted through hands-on experiences and activities. No prior hunting experience is necessary to attend. There will be no firearms present and the focus will be on ethics and skills only.

The cost is $7, which includes all materials and a morning snack.

Contact the Pickens County Extension Office at (864) 878-1395 to register. Registration is limited to the first 30, so register early. The registration fee cannot be refunded without extenuating circumstances.
