CLEMSON — South Carolina 4-H has announced the winners of the recent 2008 state BB gun match at Pendleton Elementary School.

Individual awards

Prone position

"I want to give a special 'thank you' to Pendleton Elementary School and all the parents and volunteers for all their help,” said Rick Willey, Clemson extension 4-H natural resources specialist.

“I was very pleased that all the kids shot their best and showed great sportsmanship at the match,” said Hubert Cox, coach of the Oconee County team. “That is what it is all about. It is all about the kids.”

Through the 4-H Shooting Sports Program, young people learn marksmanship, the safe and responsible use of firearms, the principles of hunting and archery and more.
