'Michael Feldman’s Whad’Ya Know?' to broadcast from Clemson University
CLEMSON — “Michael Feldman’s Whad’Ya Know?,” a nationally syndicated radio program heard on public radio stations around the country, returns to Clemson University on Saturday, April 5.
The live broadcast will originate from the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts beginning at 11 a.m. The show, which features Feldman’s off-the-cuff interviews, local personalities and people, will be heard on nearly 300 Public Radio International (PRI) affiliate stations with more than a million listeners.
Tickets to the live broadcast are $35. Tickets and information are available at www.clemson.edu/Brooks or by calling the box office at (864) 656-7787 from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“For two hours, Clemson University, the Upstate and South Carolina will be in the national radio spotlight,” said Bob McAnally, a producer for Clemson Radio Productions.
Each year, “Whad’ Ya Know?” broadcasts eight shows from the road. The program’s guests and segments reflect the host community and the program takes on a local flair, as do Feldman’s interviews with local celebrities and people from the area.
“This is the show’s second live broadcast from Tiger Town,” said Brooks Center director Lillian Harder. “The cast, crew, and, of course, the Clemson audience had a wonderful time when the show was here four years ago. This time will be even better.”
Radio announcer Jim Packard, along with the “Whad’Ya Know Trio?”— John Thulin (pianist), Jeff Hamann (bassist) and Clyde “The Funky Drummer” Stubblefied — will be a part of the Brooks Center broadcast. Two audience members and two telephone participants will have the opportunity to test their knowledge in the “Whad’Ya Know Quiz,” a contest with five trivia categories.
Produced by Wisconsin Public Radio, listeners in South Carolina will hear the live broadcast of “Whad’Ya Know?” on the South Carolina Educational Television/Radio Network at 11 a.m. A rebroadcast will air at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6, on select stations. Check local listings for stations.
