Hock accepts Clemson University invitation to scholar program

CLEMSON, S.C. — Lauren Hock of Naperville, a senior at Neuqua Valley High School, will join Clemson University's National Scholars Program in the fall.

The incoming scholar group has the highest average GPA and the highest percentage of students ranked No. 1 in their classes in three years. Students from eight states have accepted invitations to the program, including the first ever from Kentucky and California.

"The National Scholars Program is helping Clemson become increasingly attractive to academically high-achieving student leaders, especially over the last three years,” said James Williams, associate director of the program. “Our new scholars have received merit scholarship offers from top public and private schools comparable to what we offer.”

The National Scholars Program provides full scholarships for four years of undergraduate education, a study-abroad opportunity in the United Kingdom and a range of enhanced academic activities. The scholarship also includes two years of graduate study. The National Scholars Program is supported by financial gifts from donors interested in ensuring that Clemson has one of the nation’s premier scholarship programs.
