'CSI: Live!' interactive show for families coming to the Brooks Center
CLEMSON — A stage adaptation of one of the world's top television programs is coming to Clemson University's Brooks Center for the Performing Arts. “CSI: Live!” will be presented at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, as part of the center’s Family Series.
Produced by Mad Science, “CSI: Live!” is an interactive journey through the world of crime scene investigations. The show is appropriate for children 8 years and older.
When a crime is committed at the Las Vegas premiere of the Max Spade Magic Show, the CSI team springs into action. Sydney Mathis and David Hart play the roles of CSI investigators assisted by supervisor Gil Grissom through a live video connection from the Las Vegas Crime Lab.
Audience members join the team on stage as eyewitnesses, suspects and CSI recruits. Together, the audience and CSI team use their superior logic and forensic know-how to uncover hidden details, investigate the evidence and test their theories.
“Whether it’s analyzing mysterious gases, launching projectiles into targets or firing a laser beam across the stage, the CSI recruits will have to be on their toes to help solve the crime before it’s too late,” said Lillian Harder, director of the Brooks Center.
“Mad Science introduces children to scientific literacy at a time when science is as vital as reading, writing and arithmetic,” said Ann Summers, the owner and operator of the local Mad Science franchise. “An assortment of hands-on programs, such as in-school presentations, birthday parties and special events, are offered at the local level. Theatrical presentations presented by Mad Science Corporate, such as ‘CSI: Live!,’ really get children excited about science.”
Summers will conduct scientific experiments in the Brooks Center lobby 45 minutes before the live performance.
Tickets to “CSI: Live!” are $10 for adults and $5 for students and are available at www.clemson.edu/Brooks or by calling the box office at 864-656-7787 from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. For additional information about the show and Mad Science go to www.madscience.org.
