Clemson radio station to hold spring concert, art event

CLEMSON — Clemson University’s radio station WSBF 88.1 FM will hold a spring concert, “From Notes to Novas,” Saturday, April 4, in Tiger Park, located between The Esso Club and Mellow Mushroom on S.C. 93. The event is free and open to the public.

“WSBF wanted to create a big event that would draw a lot of students and bring culture into the community,” said Graham Fowler, a senior psychology major from Florence and general manager of WSBF. “We just want to have a lot of fun and spread the good music and art to all that come.”

Gates open to the public at 10:45 a.m. Bands will play from 3 p.m. to midnight. More than 20 visual artists from South Carolina and Georgia, as well as Clemson student artists, will display and sell their work until 6:30 p.m. Artists include jewelers, painters, bakers, photographers and woodcarvers. Todaro Pizza and Annie’s BBQ will be selling food throughout the day.

There will be 15 bands performing on two stages. Those performing on the main stage include the Bronzed Chorus, Irata, Groove Station, BPM, Taj Motel Trio, Do it to Julia, Hot Lava and the headliners of the event, The Howlies. Clemson students will perform on the second stage.
