Clemson University Thursday broke ground for a center that will anchor a research and innovation complex at the Clemson University Advanced Materials Center technology park in Anderson County.

The State Budget and Control Board Thursday gave final approval to Clemson University’s request for $5 million to start construction of a new Innovation Center at the Clemson University Advanced Materials Center, formerly Clemson Research Park.
