Man charged with theft of book bag, laptop

Clemson University police arrested a man they say took a book bag from a student at the library April 2.

Shane Edward Grant, 22, of 20 Second St., La France, was charged with grand larceny because the bag contained a laptop and iPod.

Police identified him from a surveillance video, according to the warrant. Grant is not a student. He was released Tuesday on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond.
