Student charged with resisting arrest
Clemson University police arrested an 18-year-old freshman and charged her with resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
Miesha P. Walton of Eastover, S.C., an engineering major, was charged after an altercation with two officers Thursday in front of Redfern Health Center. Both officers were slightly injured.
They were trying to arrest Walton on two simple assault charges when the incident occurred.
A warrant was issued Friday for the additional charges of resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
She was jailed on $10,930 bond.
She will receive an interim suspension from school and will be served with a notice not to trespass on campus.
