Welcome to the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service, Oconee County SC.  Our office is located the County Agriculture Building in Walhalla at 301C South Broad St., near the county courthouse.  Offices of the SC Forestry commission, Farm Service Agency and Natural Resources Conservation Service are also located here.  Office hours are 8am-4:30pm Monday thru Friday.  Our phone number is 864-638-5889 and FAX is 864-638-7321.

As a County Extension Agent, I work in the areas of Agriculture and Natural Resources, both adult and youth.  One of the main areas of responsibility is FORESTRY. I do a quarterly forestry newsletter that is mailed to forest landowners.  If you would like to get the newsletter, contact the Oconee Extension office.  If you want to view past issues of my newsletter, click here.  We will also be offering the level l Master Tree Farmer Program in Feb.-Mar. 2004.  Enrollment information will be available soon.

There are several Forestry Associations that meet regularly in Oconee and Surrounding Counties.  Most meet quarterly.  If you own timberland you are invited to join your local association.  This is a good way to stay up to date on forestry and wildlife issues.

Oconee county has an active beekeepers association.  If you have an interest in bees, you may want to look at their website.  Click on the link at left.
