From the Desk of Jason Caudill                       County Extension Agent

This year the Oconee County Clemson Extension Service presented it's Ninth Annual Farm City Days Event.  Our recognition and celebration of farm city week starts off with a tour of local agricultural and manufacturing facilities in the county.  This tour is for adults who want to find out more about agriculture and industry in Oconee County.

Then on the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving will hold an event at our Oak Grove 4-H Center for the K-3 students from Oconee and other surrounding counties.  Teachers bring their kids back year after year to expose them to things they may have never seen before because of today's urbanized society.  They will get to see some common farm animals, learn how to shoe a horse, how honey is made, and how they used to spin wool into yarn.  These are just a few examples of the exhibits that we have year to year at our Farm City Days.

If you are interested in coming to next years' event, please contact our office at the address in the margin of this page.

Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service offers its programs to people of all ages, regardless of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, marital or family status and is an equal opportunity employer.
