Philip’s current responsibilities include faculty training and certification through the Clemson Online Certification Course (CONCERT). This training provides faculty with an introduction to online teaching as well as hands-on experience with the Canvas learning management system. Other responsibilities include user technical support for both Blackboard and Canvas learning management systems.

Philip’s professional career has involved work in sales and support of technical equipment and software, instructional design, online teaching, and, most recently, training and support of online learning systems. His perspective as a support provider, trainer, student, and teacher in the online environment allows him to easily assume and understand the role of the person he’s assisting in order to provide the best support possible.

Philip has almost too many interests to name, but here’s a list with most current interests listed first: woodworking (he’s currently restoring a 1918 Victrola), running (he ran his first half-marathon last year), traveling, fishing, canoeing, and drawing.
