Office of Web Services
Statement of Work

As part of its mission to give visitors to Clemson University’s Web sites an accurate and positive representation of students, alumni, faculty and staff, the Office of Web Services (OWS) offers several levels of support to campus Web content managers.

For all Clemson University sites, OWS agrees to:

  1. Evaluate existing sites to determine eligibility for Cascade, the University’s Web content management system.
  2. Create user accounts and groups for Cascade.
  3. Provide internal assets such as asset factories and blocks.
  4. Resolve post-training issues regarding Cascade.
  5. Work with CCIT to resolve any server issues.
  6. Assist with Section 508 accessibility compliance.
  7. Provide catalog of Web-ready Clemson University images.
  8. Monitor for any misuse of Clemson University logos and trademarks.

For sites built by OWS, but maintained by the client, OWS agrees to:

  1. Resolve any issues with OWS-provided assets such as templates, css, blocks and images.
  2. Ensure news articles and events are available for page feeds.
  3. Work with Cascade Publishers to ensure understanding of how to manage assets and work with Contributors.
  4. Develop scripts, ssi, etc. upon request from client and approval from OWS.

For sites built and maintained in Cascade by the client, OWS agrees to:

  1. Resolve any issues with OWS-provided assets such as templates, css, blocks and images.

OWS is best able to assist clients who work in Cascade and use the approved University assets. OWS is not responsible for troubleshooting issues that arise from unapproved editing of OWS-provided assets, providing individual Cascade training at the Contributor level after the appropriate Managers have been trained, or developing and/or supporting special projects within Cascade unless approved by OWS and provided to the entire Cascade community. Please note that Cascade training is provided by CCIT; clients interested in Cascade training can search for training schedules and availability by visiting http://dprod5.clemson.edu/clereg/CourseListingUpcoming.asp.
