PCAB INITIATIVES

parents

Family Weekend – The Parents Council works with the office of Student Transitions and Family Programs in the planning and implementation of the annual family events on campus. This committee also coordinates all volunteers for the weekend.

Orientation – Our Orientation Chair works with the office of Student Transitions and Family Programs to train, coordinate and solicit volunteers working at the Parents Council Booth. At orientation, these volunteers distribute Parents Council literature to parents, answering questions and welcoming parents to Clemson.

Student Life – Our Parents Council works with the office of Student Transitions and Family Programs in reviewing student life issues on campus. They then bring these issues to meetings to discuss as a board.

Move-in day – Our Parents Council works with the office of Student Transitions and Family Programs to solicit, train and coordinate volunteers working at Move-in Weekend in August. These volunteers are there to assist with welcoming families to Clemson and hand out information for Family Weekend.

Letter Writing – Our Parents Council works with the office of Student Transitions and Family Programs and Undergraduate Admissions to solicit volunteers to write letters to accepted students encouraging them to enroll at Clemson. This is a personal touch where you can share your own student’s Clemson Experience.

High School Fair – Our Parents Council works with the office of Student Transitions and Family Programs and Undergraduate Admissions to solicit volunteers to serve as local Clemson University ambassadors to students and their families who live outside South Carolina. Parents Council members will positively represent Clemson at high school college fairs in their home states.
