General requirements for acceptance include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with the equivalent of an undergraduate major in biological, agricultural, environmental or related sciences. The general test of the Graduate Record Examination is required. Satisfactory scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) are required of international students whose native language is not English.

The effective admission process:

1. It is recommended that the applicants learn about admission requirements and initiate admission process at the CU Graduate School website, http://www.grad.clemson.edu
2. Applicant must select an advisor before admission to the PES program. Therefore, applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the PES Faculty members whose research program aligns with their educational goals and professional interests.
3. Once complete, the application is evaluated by the PES faculty. The Graduate Admission Committee makes a recommendation regarding acceptability.
4. The decision of acceptance or rejection is forwarded to the Graduate School. The Graduate School provides letter of acceptance, which includes a date by which student must respond to the offer. In certain cases, admittance may be provisional (at the department request) or postponed (at candidate request).
