Dear Clemson:
As we prepare for graduation on Friday, we remember our friends at Virginia Tech who will also celebrate commencement on May 11. Let's hope the day does mark a new beginning for them as they continue their recovery.
I knew you would be interested in the following letter, which President Charles Steger wrote to me on April 27.
Our review of safety, security and communication procedures at Clemson continues. There will be some changes implemented before fall semester. Best wishes for a great summer.

President
Dear Jim,
We sincerely thank you for your thoughts and prayers as well as the beautiful flowers that you sent to us. I was particularly touched by the students who drove the banner signed by Clemson students all the way to Blacksburg on April 22. These have lifted our spirits and greatly aided us in the dark days of this week.
Your kindness reminds us of the beauty and goodness in the world and helps give us strength to go forward. We hope you will continue to keep the Virginia Tech family in your thoughts and prayers as we begin to recover from this tragedy.
Again, we are most grateful for your thoughtfulness and send you our wishes for peace.
Sincerely,
Charles W. Steger
President
