Join the Clemson family.
There has never been a more exciting time at Clemson University. In both 2005 and 2007, The Scientist told us what we already felt to be true, ranking Clemson as the number one place to work in academia, based on the international publication’s annual survey. Working here means collaborating with outstanding faculty and teaching some of the world’s brightest minds, all while being surrounded by the picturesque lakes and mountains of Upstate South Carolina.
Over the past five years, outside research funding has more than doubled. The 2005-06 academic year saw a record amount of research funding, totaling over $136.3 million and allowing Clemson faculty to expand their research and have a stronger impact on their areas of study.
As one of the top-27 public universities in the country, Clemson is constantly proving itself as a strong force in the academic and research realms. From spring 2005 to spring 2006, President Barker was happy to announce that the average freshman SAT score rose by 21 points, the percent of Palmetto Fellows increased by 24 percent, African American freshman enrollment increased by 34 percent, and graduation rates hit an all-time high of 75 percent. Barker noted that while we are transforming and growing as a University, “our central values – a strong commitment to the core mission of teaching, research and public service, to maintaining a sense of community while increasing diversity and to contributing to the public good – remain constant.”
The students are at the center of all of this growth. At Clemson, it’s a regular practice for students and faculty to cultivate learning communities in which ideas are freely shared and innovations are created together. Students at Clemson have such pride in their school and their studies that you can’t help but get wrapped up in the momentum.
Come to Clemson. Join us in our ambitious goals and help us make our footprint on the world.
