Increasing Your Chances for Transfer Acceptance

Transfer admission is becoming more competitive. To increase their chances for admission, potential students should have the following qualifications:

  • Complete a year of college study with 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of transferable credit.
  • Earn a cumulative grade point average of approximately 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (3.0 preferred).  Some majors such as architecture, nursing, health science, communication studies, construction science and management, performing arts, early childhood education, elementary education, secondary education (social sciences), and professional golf management have more selective admission standards.  Students interested in these majors are encouraged to apply early and contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for current admission requirements.
  • Complete all freshmen-level courses in English, science and mathematics for their intended major at Clemson.
