To be considered for transfer admission, candidates should have:
- Completed a year of college study (30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of transferable work).
- Earned a cumulative grade point average of approximately 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (3.0 preferred). Some majors such as architecture, visual arts, nursing, health science, communication studies, construction science and management, performing arts, early childhood education, elementary education, secondary education (social sciences), and professional golf management have more selective admission standards. For these programs, transcripts reflecting the most recent term should be submitted as soon as they are available. Please contact the Office of Admissions for current requirements.
- Completed all freshman-level courses in English, science and mathematics for their intended major at Clemson.
When applying to Clemson, transfer applicants should:
- Submit a completed online application, and
- Request final official transcripts to be sent from each college previously attended.
Transfer Applicants for Spring and Fall Semesters 2008
Notified on a rolling basis; students can expect a decision 4-6 weeks after application is complete. Admission is closed when all classroom space has been committed. Depending on the quality and amount of course work you have taken, we will make one of two decisions.
1. Yes. You have been provisionally accepted. Your acceptance will be confirmed when all previous course work is completed.
2. No. Unfortunately, at this time your credentials do not meet current admission requirements. However, we will be glad to help you work toward entering Clemson by suggesting additional course work at another institution.
Please note that due to limited classroom space, standards for transfer admission may be modified.
