Dr. Jim Palmer, Clemson Extension soybean specialist, is serving as co-chairman of the conference program committee. Palmer will help present a session on "Innovations in Conservation Tillage" on Feb. 12. Other sessions involving Clemson Extension specialists include: a financial planning workshop presented by agricultural economist Johnny Jordan; a "Nematode Management Update" presented by John Mueller, plant pathologist, of the Edisto Research and Education Center; and "Market Risk Management in the New Farming Era," presented by Charles Curtis, marketing specialist. Supported by a grant from the United Soybean Board, the fifth annual conference is designed to get the latest available soybean production and marketing technology to farmers. The '97 conference is the first to be held for farmers along the Atlantic Coast. Commercial exhibits, poster sessions and presentations on a variety of subjects are designed to educate farmers on how to enhance the profitability of soybeans. The registration fee is $25 before January 11, and $50 afterwards.
