"On July 11 we will view both agronomic and disease tests, several of which show excellent results," says Gooden. Disease stops will concentrate on black shank, Granville wilt and nematodes. Agronomic stops will include sucker control, starter fertilizer, fertilizer management, harvest management and herbicide tests. "We will also get a look at CU263, the insect resistant tobacco variety," says Gooden. Dinner will be served Wednesday evening at the Pee Dee REC. The tour resumes the following morning at 8 a.m. from the flag pole at the main office of the Pee Dee REC. To reach the Pee Dee REC take the TV Road exit off Interstate 95 and follow the signs. END
