JULY
12-16 S.C. 4-H HORSE CAMP
     This camp for 4-H'ers of all ages is sponsored by
     Clemson Extension and is designed to
     better educate 4-H members in all aspects of 
     horse care.

18-20 CAROLINA CASH ROPING
     Team roping competition.

25-26 S.C. RACKING HORSE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
     This is a two-day event in which the racking 
     horse and rider take center stage. There are classes
     for all ages and for both professional and amateur.

25-27 JASMINE JUBILEE AQHA CIRCUIT
     This three-day event is an American Quarter Horse
     Association-approved show. There are halter and
     performance classes for all ages.

     8 a.m.

2-3  S.C. JUNIOR BEEF ROUNDUP
     This two-day event is sponsored by the Clemson Extension    
     and is designed for 4-H'ers, FFA and Junior breed
     association members to compete in various showing
     and judging competitions with breeds of beef cattle.

     Time: Saturday, 9 a.m.; Sunday church service, 8:30     
     a.m.; Sunday show, 9 a.m.

8-9  PALMETTO PAINT HORSE SHOW
     Sponsored by the Palmetto Paint Horse Club.
     This one-day event for paint horses features
     contestants from all across North America 
     who are competing for cash and prizes.

16-17 SOUTHERN EQUINE EDUCATION FOUNDATION BENEFIT DRESSAGE SHOW
     Dressage, shows according to the U.S. Dressage Federation, 
     "require the power and precision of gymnastics, and the 
     grace and subtlety of ballet. Dressage challenges mental    
     preparation as well as physical prowess. Dressage is not    
     only a method of schooling, but also a competitive sport."
     Proceeds from this show are used to support equine related 
     educational activities such as handicapped riding programs  
     and the Clemson University Equestrian Team.
