Franklin Receives Regional Award
  
     COLLETON -- Robert M. "Bob" Franklin, Clemson Extension
area forestry and wildlife agent, has received a 1998 "Award
of Excellence" for a special publication from the Southern
Region Extension Forest Resources Specialists.
     Franklin was presented with the award in April at the 
specialists' annual meeting in Orlando.
     The publication, "Stewardship of Longleaf Pine Forests:
A Guide for Landowners," was judged by a committee of
southern Extension forestry specialists to be of exceptional
quality and deserving of special recognition. The publication 
was a joint effort of the Clemson University Cooperative Extension
Service, Auburn University's School of Forestry and The Longleaf 
Alliance.
