Chapman Receives Award for Service

     CLEMSON -- Marian Chapman, a Clemson Extension associate and
state coordinator for Southern Appalachia Leadership Initiative
on Cancer (SALIC), has been honored by the  Family and Community
Leaders of Belton.
     The Belton chapter presented Chapman with an award for
"service given in the area of local, county, state and national
health" in September.
     "We have called on Marian several times, and she has made
superb presentations," said Lula Greene, president of the Belton
FCL. "After her presentations, we are all very well-informed.
She's especially good at answering questions."
     "Marian is very community and service-minded," said Brenda
Thames, Clemson Extension program development specialist. "She
believes in working at the grassroots level, where the real work
is done."
