The award, which is sponsored by Sigma Alpha Sorority, is aimed at promoting excellence among women in agriculture. It was presented recently in a ceremony at Clemson University. Easter and her husband Glen own EastGlen Farms, where they raise a prizewinning herd of Jersey cows. Long active in 4-H, Family and Community Leaders clubs and other community activities, Easter was the first woman president of the S.C. Jersey Cattle Association and has also served as president of the S.C. 4-H Volunteer Leaders Association. "Marilyn definitely is one of our most outstanding volunteers," said Clemson Extension Agent Janis Hunter of Anderson County. Easter said she is impressed with the intelligence and drive of the young women in Sigma Alpha Sorority. She added that being a woman in a business dominated by men has never hampered her pursuit of success. "If you have a positive attitude," she said, "then the rest comes easily." END
