Roman Named Regional Director

     SUMTER --  Miriam Roman, Clemson Extension 4-H volunteer
coordinator in Sumter County, has been appointed regional
director of the Midlands District of the S.C. Association of
Highway Safety Leaders. 
     The association fosters awareness of highway safety. It is a
chapter of the National Association of Highway Safety Leaders.
     As regional director, Roman coordinates activities in the 
10 counties of her district and is a member of the executive 
steering committee. 
     "We feel strongly that the association has made a
difference, and continues to do so," she said. 
     In past years, the association has worked with Mothers
Against Drunk Driving, Operation Life Savers, Safe Kids, and the
state educational system.
