The Clemson Extension Service in Greenville is planning a Halloween Safety Party just for that reason. All witches, ghosts and goblins from 9 to 12 years old are invited to attend the party in full costume on Oct. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Clemson Extension Service office. "We will talk about Halloween safety rules, such as carrying some form of light while out trick or treating, watching out for dogs, always staying in a group, costume safety and not eating candy until parents have inspected it," said Janine Sutter, Clemson Extension agent in Greenville County. Games will be played, such as a balloon-pop relay race and bobbing for apples. Prizes will be awarded. The cost is $3. Children must be registered by Oct. 24. Refreshments will be served, and each child will leave with at least one prize. The Clemson Extension office is located at Greenville County Square, 301 University Ridge, Suite 4300.
