Extension 4-H agents honor
personnel at annual meeting

     CLEMSON -- Clemson Extension Service personnel were honored at 
the annual meeting of the South Carolina Association of Extension 4-H
Agents (SCAE4-HA) held Sept. 4-6 in Myrtle Beach.
     "These awards recognize outstanding achievements in the area of 
4-H to Clemson Extension Agents, Specialists and those who support 4-H. 
They also highlight some of the excellent programs being carried out 
for youth in South Carolina," said Michael McManus, vice president of 
the SCAE4-HA.
     The Distinguished Service Award went to Shannon Herndon, Bamberg 
County, and Michael McManus, Marlboro County.
     Kellye Rembert, Richland County, received the Achievement in 
Service award and Nancy Smoak Harrison, Calhoun County, was honored for 
25 years of service. 
     Other winners include:
     ·   Continued Excellence (S.C. Award) -- Sharon Grice, Marion
 	 County.
     ·   Meritorious Award -- Toni Pipkins, state 4-H coordinator.
     ·   Friend of 4-H -- Linda McGee, Department of Family and Youth
     	 Development.
     ·   Specialist Award -- Gordon Hammond, Department of Agricultural
 	 and Biological Engineering. 
     ·   Secretary Award -- Judy Walters, Department of Family and 
	 Youth Development.
     ·   Excellence in Teamwork (State and National) -- Deborah 
	 Thomason, Department of Family and Youth Development; Lana 
	 Tietjen, Marion County; Barbara Brown, Sumter County; Kellye 
	 Rembert, Richland County; Latosia Gibson, Colleton County.
     ·   Excellence in Club Support, Natural Resources/Environmental 
	 Steward and Teen Programming (Individual) -- Terri Sumpter, 
         Sumter County.
     ·   Teen Programming (Team) and Promotional Piece (Team)-- Michael
 	 McManus, Marlboro County and Lisa Cannon, Dillon County.
     ·   Educational Piece (Individual) and Periodical Publication 
	 (Individual) - - Debra Clowney-Parnell, Florence County.
     ·   Educational Piece (Team) -- Leigh Joyner, Orangeburg County 
	 and Kristi Antley, 4-H volunteer, Orangeburg County.
     ·   Feature and News Story-- Sherry Davis-Livingston, Georgetown 
	  County.
