If so, come to the Fall Plant Sale on Saturday, Oct. 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the South Carolina Botanical Garden on the Clemson University campus. The sale will feature an expanded assortment of perennials from Europe, hearty ferns and unusual trees, and shrubs that are well suited for the local climate but may be difficult to find in retail nurseries. Garden staff, local gardening clubs and Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer any questions. Prices range from $3 to $100. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Garden. A Sneak Preview Plant Sale for "Friends of the Garden" members only will be Friday, Oct. 11, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Non-members may join at the gate. The Garden is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 76 and Perimeter Road. It encompasses 295 acres of gardens, streams and woodlands, and is open year-round from sunrise to sunset, free of charge.
