DATE: 7/26/04 At Home, Southern Style TV CLEMSON – “At Home, Southern Style,” a Clemson University
TV program, will air on the South Carolina Educational Television Network
for the week of Aug. 2. Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson
University Communications Center host the program each week, Monday through
Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m. Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the
program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204
or at the shows website at http://AtHome.clemson.edu/. The questions
will be answered on selected Friday programs. Aug 2, Monday -- Libby Hoyle, Clemson University professor
in the Department of Packaging Science, talks with her guest at the S.C.
Watermelon Festival. Then, George Kessler, Clemson University forestry
professor, talks about web worms and how to control them. The program
concludes with a floral table arrangement by Clemson University Horticulture
student Cheryl Brown. Aug 3, Tuesday -- What should plant labels really tell
you? Clemson Extension Horticulturist Bob Polomski talks with Stewart
Chandler of Wright Nurseries. Then, Gwen Majors, Clemson University horticulture
student, makes a diamond shaped flower arrangement. Aug. 5, Thursday -- Bill Head of Head-Lee Nursery talks
to Host Ann Lee McPhail about adding color and texture to your garden.
Beth Kunkel, Clemson University professor in the department of food science
and human nutrition, explains how to overcome being overweight by controlling
portion sizes. Aug. 6, Friday -- Responding to viewer request: Clemson
University Professor Katherine Cason and her daughter Melissa Cason,
make ice cream. Then, Clemson Extension Agent Kristen Welch makes fruit
salad with a great dressing. At Home, Southern Style can also be seen on The Carolina Channel. It
is also scheduled to run on RFDTV, which airs on Direct TV on channel
379 and the Dish Network on channel 9409. END |
