At Home, Southern Style TV schedule for week of Dec. 27

CLEMSON -- "At Home, Southern Style," a Clemson University TV program, will air on the South Carolina Educational Television Network for the week of Dec. 27. Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Communications Center host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m.  

Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the shows website http://AtHome.clemson.edu/. The questions will be answered on selected Friday programs.  

Monday, Dec. 27-- Marie Glenn, Clemson University student, talks about allergies and their related remedies. Libby Hoyle, Clemson University food and nutrition professor, discusses cornbread at the South Carolina State Fair. S.C. Botanical Garden’s Education Director Lisa Wagner and Wendy Farnum, S.C. Botanical Garden volunteer, tells how to compost using worms.  

Tuesday, Dec. 28 – Clemson University Professor Katherine Cason and her daughter Melissa Cason give a new slant on making homemade ice cream. Clemson Extension Food and Nutrition Specialist Libby Hoyle and Host Ann Lee McPhail are at the South Carolina State Fair looking at pound cakes.

Wednesday, Dec. 29 – Clemson Extension Food and Nutrition Specialist Libby Hoyle and Clemson Extension Agent Kristin Welsh gives shows a new way to cook collards and cabbage. David Bradshaw, Clemson Extension horticulturist, displays one of his favorite shrubs, the Dwarf Sweet Box.  

Thursday, Dec. 30 – Hosts Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett prepare a simple cranberry relish. Healthy roots make a healthy tree. George Kessler, Clemson Extension forestry professor, shows how to protect tree roots in your yard.  

Friday, Dec. 31 – Clemson Extension Horticulturist David Bradshaw discusses how to use a Persimmon tree for fruit and beauty. Misty Mohr, Clemson University student, and Clemson Extension Agent Kathy Wright discuss clutter control.  

At Home, Southern Style can also be seen on The South Carolina Channel. It is also scheduled to run on RFDTV on Mondays at 7:30 p.m., which airs on Direct TV on channel 379 and the Dish Network on channel 9409.
