At Home, Southern Style TV schedule for week of Dec. 6

CLEMSON – “At Home, Southern Style,” a Clemson University TV program, will air on the South Carolina Educational Television Network for the week of Dec. 6. Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Communications Center host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m.

Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the shows website at http://AtHome.clemson.edu/. The questions will be answered on selected Friday programs.

Monday, Dec. 6 – Clemson University Professor Beth Kunkel ruins our holiday feasting frenzy with a report on how many calories it takes to be healthy and loose weight. Then David Bradshaw, Clemson Extension horticulturist, tours the Heirloom garden in the S.C. Botanical Garden and looks at some very odd looking squash.

Tuesday, Dec. 7 -- George Kessler, Clemson Extension forestry professor, gives the details on selecting a Christmas tree. Clemson Extension Urban Wildlife Specialist Candace Cummings talks about how to decorate an outdoor tree with bird feed.

Wednesday, Dec. 8 – Clemson Extension Foods and Nutrition Specialist Libby Hoyle and Sue Hovey, Clemson Extension agent, are in the kitchen making Mediterranean Chicken. Then Jeff Lange, Clemson University horticulture student, makes a simple but lovely floral arrangement for a buffet.

Thursday, Dec. 9 – Clemson Extension Horticulturist Bob Polomski and Rekah Morris, horticulturist, explains the plant process with begonias. Candace Cummings, Clemson Extension urban wildlife specialist, explains the many types of bird seed.

Friday, Dec. 10 -- Libby Hoyle, Clemson Extension foods and nutrition specialist, and Dotty Ryan, American Dairy Association, do a kitchen "Make Over".

At Home, Southern Style can also be seen on The South Carolina Channel. It is also scheduled to run on RFDTV each Monday at 7:30 p.m. , which airs on Direct TV on channel 379 and the Dish Network on channel 9409.

The RFDTV program for Monday, Dec. 6, features Clemson Extension Forestry Professor George Kessler selecting a Christmas tree; Clemson Extension Urban Wildlife Specialist Candace Cummings talks about how to decorate an outdoor tree with bird feed; Clemson Extension Foods and Nutrition Specialist Libby Hoyle and Clemson Extension Agent Sue Hovey makes a Mediterranean chicken; and Horticulture student Jeff Lang makes a floral arrangement for a buffet.
