DATE: 7/12/04 At Home, Southern Style TV CLEMSON – “At Home, Southern Style,” a Clemson University TV program, will air on the South Carolina Educational Television Network for the week of July 19. Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Communications Center host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m. Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the
program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204
or at the shows website at http://AtHome.clemson.edu/. The questions
will be answered on selected Friday programs. July 19, Monday – Clemson Extension Agent Kathy
Wright explains how to effectively shop for a home. Kelly Richardson, former Clemson University horticulture student, shows
how to make a grape vine wreath. July 20, Tuesday -- Libby Hoyle, professor in Clemson
University’s packaging science department, and her guest talk,
about a food store in Mt. Pleasant that features all South Carolina products. Bob Polomski, Clemson Extension horticulturist, shows how to design
hedges with horticulture expert Stewart Chandler. July 21, Wednesday – Clemson Extension Agent
Rhonda Matthews and Host Ann Lee McPhail talk about salads. Then Clemson Extension Horticulturist David Bradshaw goes to the heirloom
garden to look at tomatoes. July 22, Thursday -- Our youngest food expert, Melissa Cason, daughter of Katherine Cason, makes Quasadilles with Sergio Montenegro, nutritionist. David Bradshaw, Clemson Extension horticulturist, shows the best way
to manage a compost pile. July 23, Friday -- Hydrangeas are easy to dry. Former
Clemson University horticulture student Gwen Fleistra, shows the easy
way to dry hydrangeas. Then, Clemson Packaging Science Department Professor Libby Hoyle and
Sue Hovey, Clemson Extension agent, make Italian bread sticks. At Home, Southern Style can also be seen on The Carolina Channel. It is also scheduled to run on RFDTV, which airs on Direct TV on channel 379 and the Dish Network on channel 9409. END |
