At Home, Southern Style TV schedule for week of Sept. 20

CLEMSON – “At Home, Southern Style,” a Clemson University TV program, will air on the South Carolina Educational Television Network for the week of Sept. 20. Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Communications Center host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m.

Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the shows website at http://AtHome.clemson.edu/. The questions will be answered on selected Friday programs.

Monday, Sept. 20 -- S.C. Botanical Garden Academic Director Lisa Wagner and McPhail look at a place in the S.C. Botanical Garden that is being renovated. Wagner shares her techniques for garden planning.

Tuesday, Sept. 21 -- David Howell, Clemson University student in culinary science, and Bennett, make a steak salad that is delicious and very healthy. Then Kelly Johnstone, former Clemson University horticulture student, makes a very simple basket arrangement.

Wednesday, Sept. 22 -- George Kessler, Clemson University forestry professor, tells how to transplant trees. Then Beth Kunkel, professor in the department of food science and human nutrition, tells how to get kids to eat better.

Thursday, Sept. 23 – Bennett goes to Brookgreen Gardens and visits the Live Oak Garden. Then Kunkel shows some basic foods to have on hand.

Friday, Sept. 24 -- By special request, Libby Hoyle, Clemson University professor in the department of packaging science, and Clemson Extension Agent Sue Hovey, make Italian Bread Sticks. Then Meg Wadford, former Clemson University horticulture student, makes a simple but lovely pineapple centerpiece.

At Home, Southern Style can also be seen on The South Carolina Channel. It is also scheduled to run on RFDTV, which airs on Direct TV on channel 379 and the Dish Network on channel 9409.
