Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Communications Center host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m. Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the shows website at http://AtHome.clemson.edu/. The questions will be answered on selected Friday programs. Monday, Sept. 27 -- S.C. Botanical Garden Academic Director Lisa Wagner and Ann Lee McPhail look at fall colors in the S.C. Botanical Garden . Wagner also looks at the Dwarf Evergreen trees that are not so dwarf. Then Clemson University Horticulture Professor David Bradshaw takes a nature hike for owls. Tuesday Sept 28 -- There are many things you need to consider when planting a tree. Nature size in one of them. Clemson University Forestry Professor George Kessler explains in this Tree Talk segment. Then Tim Davis, Clemson Extension agent, tells what everyone needs to know about controlling fire ants. Wednesday Sept 29 -- Karen Kemper, Clemson University professor in the department of Public Health Science, explains why children need physical activity. Then Candace Cummings, Clemson University professor, shows how to get ready for birds and the winter. Thursday Sept 30 -- Libby Hoyle, Clemson University professor in the department of packaging sciences, talks with Mark Van Ostenbridge of Bi-Lo about food safety. Then Anderson Master Gardener Lynn Finley shows what looks good and does well in a shade garden. Friday Oct. 1 -- Hoyle shows how to do fall tailgating. Then Clemson University Horticulture Specialist Bob Polomski explains the nature of xeroscaping. At Home, Southern Style can also be seen on The South Carolina Channel. It is also scheduled to run on RFDTV, which airs on Direct TV on channel 379 and the Dish Network on channel 9409. END
