Horse Show set for Dec. 11 at Garrison Arena

CLEMSON – Clemson University’s Equine Center is sponsoring a Dressage and Combined Test horse show on Dec. 11 at the T. Ed Garrison Livestock Arena.

The event will begin at 8 a.m. and will last all day. Admission is free for spectators.

Sixty riders from around the southeast will compete for prizes.

In dressage, the horse and rider will perform a pattern of maneuvers at the walk, trot and canter that are scored on a scale of 0-10. In the combined test, the same horse and rider will complete a course of jumps. The score from the jumping course is combined with the dressage score for calculating the results of the combined test. There will be winners in individual dressage tests as well as the combined test division.

Jumping will take place in the indoor arena and the dressage will take place in the outdoor arena.
