First Friday Nature Walk -- June 4 Meet at the Red Caboose for an informative walk with naturalist and Clemson University Professor David Bradshaw. Wear comfortable shoes and appropriate dress. Walks generally last between one and two hours. Fee: Free 7 a.m. Location: Meets at the Red Caboose Parking Area. Garden Fitness Walks -- 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 Take a brisk walk on our loop road through the arboretum each Wednesday. Wear walking shoes and get ready for a healthy break in your day. Bring a bag lunch and relax at the picnic area by the stream or order a boxed lunch ahead of time to enjoy in the garden. Box lunches available if ordered in advance at (864) 656-3405, minimum 5. Third Saturday FRIENDS of the Garden Day -- June 19 Friends of the Garden and Geology Museum get enjoy a free cup of coffee at the Garden Gift Shop on this day. Also, members will get free admission to the Campbell Geology Museum and free nature walks starting from the Fran Hanson Discovery Center at 10 a.m. Photographer, Bobby Gosnell and pastel artist Patricia Sink will be at the Discovery Center from noon - 2 p.m. to demonstrate their work while on exhibit during the month of May and June. Fee: FREE Saturday, 10 - 11 a.m. Location: Fran Hanson Discovery Center Hatha Yoga: Saturday Mornings - 5,12,19,26 - Ongoing Join Anita Nunnelley for Hatha Yoga, a more gentle approach to movement. Nunnelley received her teacher training and experience from The Yoga and Ayurveda Center in Anniston, AL. She is also a Reiki and Ayurvedic practitioner. The class mission is to prepare the yoga student for a regular Flow Yoga practice. This is an introduction to vinyasa or 'flow yoga' designed to increase strength and flexibility. Breathing techniques will also be practiced. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat to practice on. Class limited to 18 students. Fee: $10 per class by advanced registration. Flow Yoga - Thursdays - 3,10,17,24 Flow Yoga with Renee Gahan is a course ideal for beginner, intermediate and experienced yoga students. The class focus is on vinyasa or 'flow yoga' in addition to the ashtanga primary series of poses designed to increase strength and flexibility. Breathing techniques will also be practiced to reduce stress, induce relaxation and clarity of mind. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat to practice on.
