Jim Wallis to speak at 
Clemson's Strom Thurmond Institute

	CLEMSON - Jim Wallis, founder of Sojourners, will be speaking 
at the Strom Thurmond Institute, Clemson on Thursday, Jan. 29 at 5:00 
p.m. It is free and open to the public.
	Wallis will discuss "The Relationship between Religion and 
Politics in the 21st Century." 
	The author of three books, he is an international commentator 
on ethics and public life, and a spokesperson for faith-based 
initiatives to overcome poverty. He founded Sojourners - Christians for 
justice and peace - more than 30 years ago and continues to serve as 
the editor of "Sojourners Magazine," which covers faith, politics and 
culture.	
	In 1995, Wallis formed the organization Call To Renewal, a 
national federation of different denominations and faith-based 
organizations working together to overcome poverty.

Rutland Center for Ethics, Strom Thurmond Institute, Calhoun Honors College and Gantt Intercultural Center.
