Beginning Yoga - Wednesdays - Mar. 3 - Apr. 7 Beginning Yoga is a course for new yoga students or those who desire a review in basic practice. The class mission is to prepare the yoga student for a regular Flow Yoga practice. This is an introduction to vinyasa or 'flow yoga' designed to increase strength and flexibility. Breathing techniques will also be practiced. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat to practice on. Class limited to 18 students. Fee: $60 for the six-week series or $10 per class by advanced registration. Wednesdays: March 31 - May 6, 5:45 - 7 p.m. Location: S.C. Botanical Garden Retreat Center First Friday Nature Walk - Mar. 5 Meet at the Red Caboose for an informative walk with naturalist and Clemson University Professor David Bradshaw. Botanical Garden Retreat Center Ashtanga Yoga Workshop - Mar. 20 Lori Finch of Atlanta, Ga. will teach the primary series in the Ashtanga system, which is based on therapeutic and progressive sequences of yoga poses synchronized with specific breathing techniques. These poses are said to produce heat and purification in the body and a calm focus in the mind, which links the body and mind in meditative awareness. Finch has studied under many well-known instructors including Pattabhi Jois in New York. Fee: $25, registration deadline is March 12. Saturday: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Location: S.C.
