Master Food Preserver Course

CLEMSON – Clemson Extension is offering a Master Food Preserver Course starting Aug. 19.

The classes will be held each Thursday from 6 to 8:45 p.m. for eight weeks at the Clemson Extension office in Union County.

"This course is for anyone who is interested in canning and freezing,” said Susan Hovey, Clemson Extension agent and teacher of the course.

Cost of course materials is $60 per person and $80 per couple and will include a large notebook and the cookbook So Easy to Preserve.

The Master Food Preserver Course is similar to the Master Gardener Course. Participants who successfully finish the course are expected to donate 30 hours of volunteer time in exchange for this in-depth training.

Registration deadline is Aug. 12.
