INTEGRATED PEACH PEST MANAGEMENT SCHOOL Clemson University will host the Integrated Peach Pest Management School from Feb. 10-12 at the Clemson University Madren Center. Registration starts at 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 10 and the program will run until 6 p.m. On Feb. 11, the program will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Feb. 12, the program will begin at 8 a.m. and run to 12:30 p.m. A reception is planned in the evening from 6-7:30. The school is for peach producers, farm managers and county Extension agents to provide them the most up-to-date technical information on pest disease, weed identification, biology, control and horticultural management. TURFGRASS MANAGEMENT SCHOOL Clemson Extension is offering a Turfgrass Management School on Feb. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the University Center of Greenville Auditorium. The school is for professional turfgrass managers, athletic field managers, golf course green managers, recreational park managers or anyone interested in the management of turfgrass. Subjects include: controlling thatch in lawns, identification and control of insects in lawns, turfgrass weed management, diseases identification and control in home lawns and vole control. Cost is $100 per person. Pre-registration is required. Registration deadline is Feb. 13. Make checks payable to the CUCES Greenville County Fund. The fee includes a notebook of speaker's presentations, Southern Lawns book, and five recertification credits toward pesticide license, lunch and the latest information on turfgrass management. ED GARRISON LIVESTOCK ARENA Circus Matrix will perform at the Garrison Livestock Arena on Feb. 18 at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. The show will feature Chinese Torture Extreme, Moscow Rap Boyz on Bikes, Sweden's most beautiful show girls, bungee divers of Crazy Canyon, The Slay Master of Las Vegas, clowns, motorcycle jumpers, the world's strongest man, Pretzel Boy, interactive rides and other attractions. From Africa, The Moroccan Tumblers will be performing their eight-person pyramid held up by one man. Humans will juggle humans as the Martinez Troop balance, spin and flip each other about. Double trapeze aerialists will fly through the air high above the arena floor. Robert Dante will show why he's listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest and most accurate bullwhip expert. Also visit the monkey funny farm, wrestle an alligator, wrap a python around your neck, paint your face like a clown or just enjoy a big pink cotton candy. Each performance is two hours and starts on time. Adult tickets are $20. Children's tickets are $7 or free with Free Kids Tickets. Also, two-for-one adult coupons are available at more than 250 local stores (fast foods, convenience stores, gas stations, etc.) two to three weeks prior to the show.
