Morton, a Clemson University administrative specialist, has received the Outstanding Service Award. Morton, an Entomology, Soils and Plant Sciences staff member for 21 years, received the award during the Entomology Department staff meeting recently. She was recognized for "dedicated service to the Cooperative Extension Service and Clemson University." Morton provides assistance with all of the instructional events that are offered in the Household and Structural Urban Entomology Program. She helps with the preparations and organization of materials for the annual Pest Control Operators School, which is a nationally recognized conference for 500 people. She also has a key role in the instructional and registration material for the Termite Tech Schools, which are also nationally recognized, and the Master Pest Control Technician Course. "Tammy Morton is doing an outstanding job as administrative specialist," said Carroll Culbertson, Clemson Extension regional director. "And, she continues to provide great insight and leadership for the South Carolina Association of Cooperative Extension Secretaries (SCACES). It gives me great pleasure to work with her in my capacity as adviser to SCACES." She is the key person for organizing and preparing all of the program materials for Clemson's two annual beekeeper's conferences. She also prepares layouts and processes news for the South Carolina Beekeepers three times a year then mails them to 1,600 beekeepers. "Tammy has a multitude of other tasks in assisting faculty, staff and students with her technical computer skills," said Kathy Sexton, administrative assistant in the Department of Entomology, Soils and Plant Sciences. "She also maintains our departmental website and plays a critical role in the productivity of our teaching, research and Extension programs with her in-depth knowledge of university policy and contacts."
