Clemson Extension is offering the TOP workshop at the Clemson University campus on May 19-20 and May 27. The program's first two days will cover small business management, and on the third day, best management practices will be discussed. Pre registration is required by May 6 for all three days. The fee for the three-day program is $200. Class size is limited to 35 students and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. The program provides the latest information on timber, harvesting, safety, business and environmental regulations, water quality and wildlife habitat. The three-day workshop is designed for owners and operators of logging and forestry contracting operations, foresters and landowners. Forest industries in South Carolina require that loggers meet the American Forest and Paper Association's Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) guidelines. To be recognized as fully SFI Trained, you must complete all three days of the TOP Program and maintain 12 hours of continuing education every three years.
