Focus -- Firebombings: From My Father's Wars to Ours. Bob Becker, director of the Strom Thurmond Institute on Government and Public Affairs at Clemson University, talks with Christopher Dickey , the Paris Bureau Chief and Middle East Regional Editor for Newsweek Magazine and author of Summer of Deliverance: A Memoir of Father and Son about his relationship with his father, poet James Dickey. A James Dickey Celebration , featuring Christopher Dickey and his brother Kevin and sister Bronwen, is planned for Sept. 15 and 16 at Clemson University. Christopher Dickey’s Presidential Colloquium address: “Fact, Fiction and Foreign Policy” takes place at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Tillman Auditorium on the Clemson University campus. The Arts, I -- Found. Greenville writer Carolyn Grothaus, one of the winners of the 2004 Piccolo Spoleto short story competition, reads her entry: “China Doll.” Profiles -- A Celebration of Beach Music. We’ll sample some favorite tunes from our “state music” as Roy Scott visits Ocean Annie’s at Myrtle Beach to talk with Harry Turner, president of Beach Music Association International. TUESDAY, SEPT. 7 -- Palmetto Gardening -- A special edition recorded during Park Seed’s Flower Days in Greenwood . Clemson Extension Horticulturist Bob Polomski talks with Elvin McDonald, Better Homes and Gardens Magazine deputy editor for gardens and outdoor living.
