DATE: 5/11/05 CONTACTWRITER: Brian Callahan, (864) 878-1394 Lake Keowee 4-H20 Pontoon classroom scheduled for June 20-24 CLEMSON – Clemson Extension in Oconee and Pickens counties, in partnership with the Friends of Lake Keowee Society, is offering a 4-H20 Pontoon Classroom June 20-24. The week-long program is offered to youth ages 8-12, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day at High Falls County Park on Lake Keowee . Pontoon boats will serve as transportation as participants take an in-depth look at Lake Keowee , which acts as the 'classroom' for this program. “The purpose of this event is to educate youth about water quality, conservation, and stewardship through a mixture of hands-on activities,” said Brian Callahan, Clemson Extension agent. The cost for the program is $35, which includes a notebook, t-shirt, materials, and snacks.
