Lake Keowee 4-H20 Pontoon classroom scheduled for June 20-24

CLEMSON – Clemson Extension in Oconee and Pickens counties, in partnership with the Friends of Lake Keowee Society, is offering a 4-H20 Pontoon Classroom June 20-24.

The week-long program is offered to youth ages 8-12, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day at High Falls County Park on Lake Keowee .

Pontoon boats will serve as transportation as participants take an in-depth look at Lake Keowee , which acts as the 'classroom' for this program.

“The purpose of this event is to educate youth about water quality, conservation, and stewardship through a mixture of hands-on activities,” said Brian Callahan, Clemson Extension agent.

The cost for the program is $35, which includes a notebook, t-shirt, materials, and snacks.

For more information, or to obtain registration information, contact Brian Callahan at the Pickens Extension Office at (864) 878-1394 or Jason Caudill at the Oconee Extension Office at (864) 638-5889.

Should anyone require special accommodations due to a disability, please notify the Extension office at least ten days prior to the event.
