DATE: 11/17/05 CONTACT: Michael McManus (843) 479-6851 WRITER: Diane Palmer, (864) 656-4741 Clemson Extension agents receive national honors CLEMSON – Five Clemson Extension agents were honored recently at the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents meeting in Seattle, Wash. Debra Clowney-Parnell of Florence; Latosia Gibson of Colleton and Jasper Counties; Kellye Rembert, Midlands regional director; Lisa Cannon of Marlboro County; and Karissa Ulmer of Allendale and Hampton counties, were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments in 4-H. Clowney-Parnell won the Meritorious Service Award and the National 25 Years of Service Award. The Meritorious Service Award is presented to a member with at least 15 years of service to Extension youth programming. Parnell’s career has been devoted to helping young people and their families become capable, caring citizens. Gibson and Rembert were honored with the National Distinguished Service Award. This award recognizes outstanding achievement, professional attitude, and professional improvement by individuals who have served seven years or more in Extension youth programs. Cannon and Ulmer received the National Achievement in Service Award. This is in recognition of members who have worked in Extension 4-H for three to seven years and conducted creative and innovative programs. END
