At Home, Southern Style TV schedule for week of Aug. 22

CLEMSON -- "At Home, Southern Style," a Clemson University TV program, will air on the South Carolina ETV Network for the week of Aug. 22. Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Communications Center host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m.

Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the show’s website at: http://AtHome.clemson.edu/.

Monday, Aug. 22 -- David Bradshaw, Clemson University horticulturist, gives the detailed procedure for making and using compost.

Tuesday, Aug. 23 -- Bill Head, horticulturist and owner of Head-Lee Nursery in Seneca, shows plants that can be used instead of Leland Cypress trees.

Beth Kunkel, Clemson University professor in the department of food science and human nutrition, dispels some of our food misconceptions.

Wednesday, Aug. 24 -- Some plants add "motion" to the garden. Clemson University Horticulturist Bob Polomski talks with Stewart Chandler of Wight Nurseries about plants that "move".

When it comes to food, no one wants to make a safety mistake. Libby Hoyle, Clemson Extension food and nutrition specialist, discusses food safety with Clemson Extension Agent Carolyn Harris.

Thursday, Aug. 25-- Libby Hoyle, Clemson Extension food and nutrition specialist, talks with Tom Addis, owner of McLibs Southern Dumplins, about this specialty food.

Wendy Farnum, Clemson University volunteer, and Lisa Wagner, of the S.C. Botanical Garden, show the pollinators in the garden.

Friday, Aug. 26 -- Beth Kunkel, Clemson University professor in the department of food science and human nutrition, talks about "after the game" snacks for kids.

Libby Hoyle, Clemson Extension food and nutrition specialist, talks with her guest about keeping children healthy.
