Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Communications Center host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m. Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the show’s website at: http://AtHome.clemson.edu/. Monday, Aug.29 Clemson University is developing scientific research in all parts of the world. Jeff Bennett went with a group to Dominica, a beautiful rain forest island in the southern Hemisphere. He has this report with Debbie Dalhouse, public information director for Clemson University’s Public Service Activities, and they are in the rain forest. Tuesday, Aug 30 Tracy Todd, vice president of history at Middleton Place, takes a tour of the barn yard of this restored plantation. She looks at various implements and sees what life was like back then. Next Bob Polomski, Clemson Extension horticulturist, and Bill Head of Head Lee Nurseries in Seneca, to look at plants that displays fall colors. Wednesday, Aug. 31 - Water Safety is essential, especially during holidays like Labor Day. Rebecca Dalhouse, communications student from the University of South Carolina and summer intern with us, explains how to be safe in the water. Then by popular request, we repeat Clemson Extension Agent Elizabeth Hill's recipe for Texas Caviar. Thursday, Sept. 1 Kathryn and Melissa Cason make strawberry parfait. Cason is Clemson University human nutrition specialist, and Melissa is her daughter. Then Clemson University Food and Nutrition Professor Beth Kunkel show a diet for persons with Type II Diabetes. Friday, Sept. 2 We all love salsa but some have the recipe down to a science. Clemson University student Randy Wright is in the kitchen with Jeff Bennett making some good tasting salsa. At Home, Southern Style can also be seen on the South Carolina Channel.
