At Home, Southern Style TV schedule for week of Feb. 14

CLEMSON -- "At Home, Southern Style," a Clemson University TV program, will air on the South Carolina Educational Television Network for the week of Feb. 14. Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Communications Center host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m.

Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the shows website at: http://AtHome.clemson.edu/. The questions will be answered on selected Friday programs.

Monday, Feb. 14 – Clemson University Food Science and Human Nutrition Professor Beth Kunkel discusses chocolate ideas for Valentine's Day.

Host Ann Lee McPhail visits with S.C. Botanical Garden ’s Academic Program Director Lisa Wagner to see what is blooming in the S.C. Botanical Garden .

Tuesday, Feb. 15 – Clemson Extension Urban Wildlife Specialist Candace Cummings and Host Ann Lee McPhail get ready for blue birds and Spring.

Then Beth Kunkel, Clemson University food science and human nutrition professor, explains the new dietary guidelines that replaces the old food guide pyramid.

Wednesday, Feb. 16 -- Mandy Ticknor, Clemson University student majoring in Communications Studies, investigates teen pregnancy and offers some solutions.

Thursday, Feb. 17 -- Answering a viewer’s question, Clemson University Food Science and Human Nutrition Professor Beth Kunkel explains trans fatty acid.

Then Lisa Wagner, S.C. Botanical Garden ’s academic director, looks at texture in the S.C. Botanical Garden .

Friday, Feb. 18 -- Responding to a viewer’s question, Carry Burriss, retired Clemson University horticulturist, gives a recipe for potting soil.

Then Chuck Burgess, Home and Garden horticulture information specialist, shows how to repot house plants.

At Home, Southern Style can also be seen on The Carolina Channel and RFDTV. RFDTV airs on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. on Direct TV on channel 379 and the Dish Network on channel 9409.
